Health and genetics are of utmost importance to us at Sovereign Maine Coons. We ensure that all of our kings and queens have genetic testing to guarantee that our breeding lines are strong, healthy, and free from hereditary conditions. Common genetic mutations in Maine Coons include, HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy), PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease), SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy), PK-deficiency (Pyruvat Kinase Deficiency), HD (Hip Dysplasia).
